On Social Mechanisms Underlying the Transmission of Economic Crisis in a Chinese Context

国际经济危机的蔓延和中国政府采取强有力的应对措施是当前中国社会生活中的重要事件。以此为背景,本文运用社会学概念和工具,对经济危机传导的社会机制、从经济问题向社会问题传导的社会机制,以及政府应对经济危机的政策措施问题进行了探讨。 

The spread of international economic crisis has made its way into Chinese society , and profound socio-economic impacts are now greatly felt within and across its border .To adopt swift and effective coping strategy and to take responsive measures has  become Chinese government' s highest priority .Economic stimulating actions and confidence-saving initiatives are now in the center of Chinese social life.Using sociological concepts and theoretical tools, this article aims to launch a serious academic discussion on three interrelated topics :1) social mechanisms that help accelerate the transmission of economic crisis; 2) social mechanisms that functioning in the transformation of an economic crisis into a social crisis;and 3) governmental policy choices in combating this economic crisis.
